Starlux has announced it will launch flights to Hong Kong.


From July 16, the Taiwan-based carrier will operate two daily flights between Taipei-Taoyuan and Hong Kong. The two outbound flights to Hong Kong – JX231/JX235 – will depart Taipei in the morning and late afternoon. The return flights – JX232/JX236 - will depart Hong Kong in the late morning and evening.  


Previously, Aeroroutes reported the airline filed to launch the Taipei-Hong Kong route on July 8. The airline will use Airbus A330-900neo and A350-900 aircraft on the route.  


According to aviation data company OAG, the Hong Kong-Taipei route is the third busiest air route in 2023. The route is currently served by six Hong Kong and Taiwan-based carriers - China Airlines, EVA Air, Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines, HK Express, Greater Bay Airlines – serving 4.568 million passengers during the year.


Along with Hong Kong, Starlux also offers flights to Macau in the Greater Bay Area.


With the addition of Hong Kong, the airline's network covers 27 destinations.
